Upright Piano Calisia

The Calisia piano and grand piano factory was established in Poland, in the town of Kalisz, in 1878 by Arnold Fibiger. Pianos and grand pianos were produced there for 130 years. The best times and models of pianos were produced until 1939, during which time models from this manufacturer won many competitions in Poland and Europe.

Pianos from this manufacturer are very common in music schools across Poland. Many famous Polish pianists started their journey on instruments from Calisia. To this day, it remains the most frequently encountered instrument in Polish homes. On Klaviano, one can find both well-maintained gems and worn instruments, with prices for these instruments not being exorbitant, allowing for the purchase of a well-maintained instrument at an attractive price.

Opinion on Calisia Pianos

If you have a limited budget and want a piano for learning for yourself, a student, or your child, and you are considering whether to buy a digital or an acoustic piano, from my own experience, I would recommend looking for a Calisia piano. I can also recommend using the Klaviano feature save search, which allows you to set parameters such as price range and the specifications of the piano you need. The search system will then notify you by email if such a piano appears on Klaviano.

Currently, the most popular model of Calisia piano on Klaviano is the Calisia M 108 model; however, many owners of these instruments are not knowledgeable about pianos, so it often happens that they do not complete the model name when posting an ad, but we are trying to correct this continuously.

The history of the Calisia brand does not end after 1939. However, its best years have passed. After 1947, the production of pianos and grand pianos was resumed, but it was the communist period in Poland, so the quality varied. After the company’s fall in 2007, a Chinese manufacturer acquired the rights to its name, and since 2010, it has been producing two models of grand pianos and three models of pianos under the Calisia name.
