This Steinway & Sons D-274 comes from Hamburg and is in excellent, professionally maintained condition. The instrument is regularly tuned and is in top technical and visual condition.
Materials and certificate
The ivory of the keys is original and undamaged. The grand comes with a CITES certificate which regulates the possession and transport of the ivory.
Revisions and maintenance
The grand underwent a complete overhaul at Steinway in Hamburg; original parts and the invoice for that work are present. In 2023 the lacquered parts and accessories were polished and cosmetically refreshed. In 2026 the action was fully serviced, balanced and carefully regulated.
History and use
The grand was originally delivered new in 1966 by Rijken & de Lange to De Doelen in Rotterdam. Between 1966 and 1999 the instrument was intensively used for concerts and numerous recordings; the silver book, photos and film material provide evidence. In 1999, after an overhaul at Steinway & Sons in Hamburg, the grand was taken over by Bloomline Studio, where from 2000 to 2022 it was professionally maintained in a climate-controlled space. Since 2023 the grand was located in the Reformed Church in Puttershoek for concerts, during which both the appearance and the action were further optimised.
