This is an exceptional and very rare Concert Grand Yamaha, Mod. F.C. "Full Concert", different in sound, action, dimensions, weight and construction from the newer Mod. CF. It was built in Japan for the North American market during the ’60s, thanks to the productive collaboration between the famous Italian lute maker Cesare Augusto Tallone and Yamaha. It is long 9.1 ft. (as the Fazioli Concert Grand) and it weights over 1.100 lbs.
The Yamaha Concert Grand Mod. F.C. was produced in a very few samples and it is practically impossible to find it on the market today.
This very rare instrument belongs to the international renowned Italian pianist Christian Leotta, who preferred to perform on this piano, rather than on his Steinway Concert Grand, two complete cycles of Beethoven’s 32 Piano Sonatas, played to great public and critic success on Lake Como, Italy, at the Concert Hall of the Villa Carlotta Museum in 2015, in 2016 and in 2017, as well as in several other occasions.
The Instrument is in very good conditions, ready to be played in public. It has been restored only a few years ago with a new set of German hammers, new strings, new pin block (it keeps a very stable tuning for long time), new "paramartelli" and a new top class keyboard; its action has been fully checked and regulated by a very famous Italian piano technician.
Besides its timbre, noble and naturally expressive, the most impressive quality of this concert grand is his extraordinary capacity to sustain the sound, thus making very easy to produce a beautiful cantabile and a real legato.
