From its unique, solid spruce and beech inner rim to its quarter-sawn outer rim, the piano was and is manufactured
with the intent of not only being unique but of lasting a very long time. The sound produced by this construction is consistent deep bass with more fundamental than harmonic, and a bright and brilliant treble.
Rarely used in all of the years of ownership, the keys are well-leveled, brand-new looking; the key bushings on both balance and front rails showed little side-to-side wear across its entire length, a sure sign of very light use, especially in the central, tenor region of the keyboard.
The case, a polished ebony case, is beautiful. It's brass appointments are all present and in good condition, making for the loveliest and most aesthetically pleasing piano. And, for its age, this piano is undoubtedly above average in its shape, useability, tune, and tone.
This piano is in virtually pristine condition, showing very little wear at all. The belly of the piano is intact: no separation of the inner from outer rims; soundboard ribs intact producing good crown, still; bridges show no splitting or cracking.
The strings have not been replaced, and no rough use, or environmental deterioration (oxidization); the dampers are all seated well, aligned well and pedal timing and key lift timing consistent and smooth. The piano action has little wear from minimal use: hammers have little string cutting, due to excellent care and regulation (e.g., string grooves were centered on all hammers); little wear in knuckles; little wear in back checks; felt for jack buttons and wippen heels, again, have little friction wear; key end felt, likewise, have slight pressure wear from damper underlever.
