Używany Steinway & Sons D-274 - 1955, Fortepian, Kość słoniowa, Po Renowacji

I am selling this Steinway (Hamburg) D-274 grand piano, serial # 347303, built in 1955. The mechanism (but not the lacquer) was restored in the late 1970s, and the instrument has been played very little from then on. As a result, it is in perfect playing condition, with the hammers looking like new (although never brushed) and the soundboard intact. More recently it has been used by professional pianists and tuned and maintained regularly by a renowned technician. The instrument is distinguished by a rather dark, warm sound and a fine dynamic response.

Until the 1970s, the instrument was the concert grand piano in a major Swiss concert hall where it was played by a large number of great 20th century pianists, including Emil Gilels, Sviatoslav Richter, Géza Anda and Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. As recently as on the 24/06/2021 it was expressly requested by Sir András Schiff for his recital at the LAC in Lugano. He preferred it to the new instrument in the hall.

Around 1977 the instrument was purchased by a Zurich organist who used it very sparingly and from whom I inherited it. In the same period the instrument was professionally refurbished, obviously by an expert and competent technician. The action is by Renner (not supplied by Steinway at that time) and some of the black writings on the iron frame were painted over with gold paint. The lacquer of the case (black shellac) is worn, tarnished or damaged in some places, especially around the keyboard.

Ich verkaufe meinen Konzertflügel Steinway (Hamburg) D-274, Seriennummer 347303, Baujahr 1955, Ende der 1970er Jahre mechanisch generalüberholt und seither wenig gespielt und daher in einwandfrei spielbarem Zustand, mit Hämmern, die wie neu aussehen (obwohl nie gekratzt) und einem intakten Resonanzboden. In jüngerer Zeit ist das Instrument regelmäßig von professionellen Pianisten gespielt und von einem erstrangigen Techniker gestimmt und gewartet worden. Es zeichnet sich durch einen warmen, eher dunklen Klang und eine feine dynamische Ansprache aus.

Das Instrument stand bis um die Mitte der 1970er Jahre in einem Schweizer Konzertsaal, wo es von Größen wie Emil Gilels, Svjatoslav Richter, Géza Anda und Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli gespielt wurde. Um 1977 wurde es von einem Zürcher Organisten erworben, der es nur wenig benutzte und von dem ich es geerbt habe. Im selben Zeitraum wurde das Instrument professionell und fachgerecht restauriert. Die Tastatur ist mit Elfenbein belegt, die Mechanik von Renner (aber nicht von Steinway geliefert), und einige der schwarzen Schriften auf dem Rahmen wurden mit Goldfarbe übermalt. Der Lack des Gehäuses (schwarzer Schellack) ist an einigen Stellen stumpf, abgenutzt oder beschädigt, insbesondere im Bereich der Tastatur.

Für seinen Klavierabend im LAC in Lugano am 24.06.2021 verlangte Sir András Schiff ausdrücklich dieses Instrument, das er dem neueren Steinway im Saal vorzog.

Sto vendendo questo Steinway (Amburgo) D-274 pianoforte a coda, n. di serie # 347303, costruito nel 1955. Le parti meccaniche (ma non la vernice) sono state restaurate negli anni '70. Da tale restauro in poi lo strumento è stato usato poco, pertanto rimanendo in perfetto stato di uso, con martelli che sembrano nuovi (senza essere stati pettinati) e distinguendosi per un suono piuttosto scuro e caloroso nonché una finissima risposta dinamica. Più recentemente è stato utilizzato da pianisti professionali e accordato e mantenuto regolarmente da un tecnico rinomato.

Fino agli anni '70, lo strumento era ubicato in una grande sala da concerto in Svizzera dove lo hanno suonato numerosi pianisti di fama mondiale quali Emil Gilels, Svjatoslav Richter, Géza Anda e Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli.  Recentemente è stato espressamente richiesto da Sir András Schiff per il suo recital al LAC di Lugano del 24/06/2021, preferendolo a uno Steinway nuovo presente in sala (vedi allegato).

Intorno al 1977 lo strumento fu acquistato da un organista e maestro di coro zurighese che ne faceva uso molto moderato e da cui l'abbiamo ereditato. Nello stesso periodo lo strumento fu restaurato, ovviamente a regola d'arte e da un tecnico esperto. La martelliera è di Renner (ma non fornita dalla Steinway all'epoca) e alcune delle scritte nere sul telaio in acciaio sono state pitturate sopra con vernice color oro. La vernice della cassa (gommalacca nera) è usurata, appannata o danneggiata in alcuni posti, specie intorno alla tastiera.
