The fitted action is a Schwander action, valued for its responsiveness and touch sensitivity; the hammers retain the traditional construction, with natural felt mounted on wooden cores, giving the bass register a warm, rounded tone and the treble a bright but never shrill sound.

The instrument, produced around 1927 (serial number 5288), has undergone a complete restoration: the hammer felts were professionally replaced in Germany, a humidity control system was installed, and the case was returned to an almost immaculate condition. It is supplied with a matching new bench.
