Usado, Carl Mand

Rare Glockenflügel model by Carl Mand (serial no. 51551), made in Koblenz in 1910. At 160 cm in length, the instrument presents itself after a complete overhaul in a technically and visually like-new condition.

The soundboard was repaired, the plate finely sanded and lacquered, and the scale recalculated. Heller and Röslau strings were fitted; numerous components have been renewed, including hammer heads, damping elements, felt parts and axles. The keyboard was thoroughly cleaned, and the attractive natural key covering was sanded and polished. Finally, extensive fine regulation, intonation and tuning were carried out.

The case received an environmentally friendly, high-gloss sanded lacquer; visually the Mand is appealing from all sides and unfolds its presence freely in the room. Sonically the grand convinces with a full bass, a singing midrange and a finely pearling treble.
