"When Koichi Kawai began building pianos and grand pianos more than 100 years ago, his dream was that one day they would be among the best in the world. His son Shigeru continued the tradition and today that dream has become reality. The Shigeru Kawai series brings a new generation of grand pianos to the market, crafted with dedication and the highest-quality materials in loving handwork. The passion and craftsmanship of the high-calibre piano makers can be heard in six top-class models offering a wonderful tone and concert-like fullness. Carefully selected noble woods for the soundboard, hammer heads and bridges are combined with advanced development and testing techniques. The fine spruce of the soundboard gives the Shigeru grands their unique, full tone. The felt for the hammer heads is hand-pressed with the utmost care to preserve the extraordinary dynamics and expressive power. For the unique case, hard woods of differing textures are glued together to achieve the ideal acoustic balance for the rounded tone of the Shigeru Kawai grands. Extended keys ensure a balanced touch and optimal transmission of power. The unique Millennium III action is exceptionally light and stable, enabling even faster repetition as well as a sensitive touch and precise control. Each Shigeru Kawai grand is a unique masterpiece from a small limited production, meant to fulfil not only Koichi Kawai's dream but also that of the pianist."
