Barely Played Shigeru Kawai SK-3L - 2013 Master Artisan Build
Discover an incredible blend of rich tone and responsive touch admired by world-class pianists across the globe. This Shigeru Kawai SK-3L, manufactured in early 2013, has been kept in a private, climate-controlled home in Zurich and has been barely played, leaving the action and hammers in "like-new" condition.
As a 2013 model, this instrument features the highly coveted "L" (Concert Series) specifications. The SK-3L is distinguished by its extended key length, providing the pianist with superior mechanical leverage and a level of expressive control usually reserved for full-size concert grands.
Master Artisan Craftsmanship: The Shigeru Kawai is "hand-made" in the extreme. This piano was prepared by Kawai’s Master Piano Artisans (MPA) using premium materials:
- The Action: Kawai Millennium III ABS-Carbon action - faster and more precise than traditional wooden actions.
- The Hammers: Hand-pressed “Shiko Seion” hammers made from New Zealand and Australian wool, offering an extraordinary dynamic range.
- The Wood: Tapered and tuned solid spruce soundboard, air-dried for years, and a rim featuring a stunning Bird’s Eye Maple interior.
- Hand-Finished Details: “Temaki” hand-wound bass strings, hand-notched bridges, and hand-planed ribs for optimum stiffness and resonance.
Condition & Value:
Because this piano has seen very little use, the hammer felts show virtually no deep grooving, and the internal regulation remains exceptionally precise. This is a rare opportunity to own a world-class Conservatory Grand that is "broken in" but mechanically fresh, at a significant savings from the Swiss retail price.
Specifications:
Model: SK-3L (188 cm / 6’ 2”)
Serial Number: 2,652,644 (Built 2013)
Finish: Ebony Polish with Bird’s Eye Maple inner rim.
Features: 3 Pedals (including Sostenuto with Dual-Pivot design), Solid Brass Hardware.
