An exceptional Steinway & Sons Model B (211 cm) from 1925, in nearly showroom condition, fully restored according to the guidelines of composer and pianist Atanas Valkov. The instrument has preserved the authentic tonal character of the 1920s while gaining contemporary clarity and tuning stability, prepared for intensive studio work.
The piano was used in the production of soundtracks, including:
- “The King” (Best Polish Soundtrack of the Year award at FMF),
- “Wyszyński – Revenge or Forgiveness”,
- “The Insurgent 1863”,
- “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt”.
The restoration process was carried out according to the artistic and technical requirements of the supervisor, in cooperation with leading Polish piano technicians. All replaced components are original Steinway & Sons parts, which guarantees preservation of the brand’s characteristic sound. Bass strings: Heller; treble-register strings: Roslau.
Scope of work included, among others:
- restoration of the original soundboard,
- replacement of strings and tuning-pin bushings,
- reconstruction of the bridges,
- installation of new Abel Premium hammers,
- comprehensive overhaul of the action and keyboard,
- precise tuning, regulation and voicing tailored for studio work,
- high-gloss black lacquer finish.
