Description:
For sale is a true rarity for connoisseurs and design lovers: A Yamaha G2 Grand Piano in original Satin Walnut finish.
In a world full of black high-gloss pianos, this instrument is a statement of individual style and mid-century elegance. It is an original "Nippon Gakki" model (Made in Japan, Hamamatsu), dating from the "Golden Era" of Japanese piano building.
Historical Highlight (Quality Feature):
This grand piano comes with an extraordinary history: It was not transported by ship as usual, but was flown directly from Japan to Germany via air freight.
This was an extremely costly procedure at the time, reserved only for hand-selected, premium instruments. The decisive advantage: The instrument was spared the weeks of high humidity associated with sea transport. As a result, the wood and soundboard are in an exceptionally well-preserved original condition.
About the Instrument:
• Model: Yamaha G2 (Length approx. 173 cm / 5'8" – the ideal living room grand)
• Serial Number: 964359 (Year of manufacture approx. 1970)
• Finish: Rare Walnut wood veneer, satin finish (Mid-Century Modern look).
• Sound: While modern Yamahas often sound very bright and "clean," this piano possesses the matured, warm, and singing character that pianists cherish in early G-series models.
• Condition: Technically and visually very well maintained. Tuning stability is excellent; the action plays precisely and evenly.
Location & Logistics:
The instrument is located in Gundelfingen/Freiburg i.B. (Germany).
Viewing and test playing are expressly welcomed by appointment.
Transport:
Due to the value and weight of the instrument, shipping must be handled by a professional piano mover.
• International Buyers: I am happy to assist in coordinating with a specialized freight forwarder for safe transport within Europe.
• Cost: Shipping costs are to be covered by the buyer.
Private sale. No warranty or return.
