Steinway Sons Model Z Upright Piano - c1953 - Prepared by expert Steinway technician in dedicated workshops.

This Steinway & Sons Z‑115 upright, built in 1953, is presented in a satin mahogany case that has been well maintained over time. It combines the character of a vintage Steinway with a musical quality that makes it rewarding for regular playing.

The mahogany cabinet has an understated, warm appearance and remains in very good condition for an instrument of this age. At 116 cm high the Z‑115 offers a compact footprint, making it a practical Steinway option for domestic settings where space is limited.

Sonically the piano delivers a pleasant medium‑toned palette: there is warmth in the lower registers, clear definition through the middle, and a refined sparkle in the upper register. The instrument is versatile and adapts well to a broad range of repertoire, from expressive solo pieces to accompaniment.

The action responds reliably and gives the player good control over phrasing and dynamics, which supports confident, expressive performance whether used for daily practice or by more advanced pianists seeking that distinctive Steinway character.

A notable original feature is the ivory keyboard. The instrument has been registered with the UK Government in respect of its ivory keys; that registration does not automatically transfer to a new owner. The purchaser will need to complete a fresh registration after purchase (the current fee is £20) and we can assist with this process. -16410
