The Yamaha U1M is a model from the early 1980s (production period 1980–1982) and is known for a generally slightly softer, warmer tone than many other U1 variants.

This instrument has been fully refurbished and rebuilt. Both the interior and the cabinet have been thoroughly overhauled: the case has been repainted with polyester high‑gloss lacquer, the soundboard has received a new coat of lacquer, and the interior has been restored to near‑new condition. The key coverings have been replaced, giving a fresh playing feel.

All strings and hammerheads have been repaired or replaced where necessary. As standard, all felts and the bearings in the action are renewed. Brass parts have been polished and now look like new. The piano is fitted with a practice pedal and a slow‑fall mechanism on the fallboard.

Due to the complete overhaul, we provide a 10‑year warranty on this instrument.

Silent system: we offer several silent solutions. Sometimes we encounter pianos with an original Yamaha silent system, but typically we install a universal silent system of your choice. This makes it possible to select an instrument from our full range and have a silent system fitted later.
