Description de l’annonce
Offered for sale is a six-foot grand piano (approx. 183 cm) by Rud. Ibach Sohn, crafted circa 2000 in the Schwelm factory near Wuppertal, Germany — among the final grand pianos produced before Ibach ceased grand production in 2007.
Founded in 1794, Ibach is widely recognized as the world's oldest piano manufacturer. Their instruments were played and commissioned by Richard Wagner, Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt, and Richard Strauss. This instrument reflects the pinnacle of that 200-year tradition.
The cabinet is finished in burled walnut polish — a rare and visually striking veneer that makes each instrument unique. The action is by August Renner (the same action house trusted by Hamburg Steinway), with leather key bushings and specially voiced hammers. The soundboard is Carpathian spruce, prized for exceptional tonal sustain and sensitivity.
Condition: Very Good to Excellent. Original guarantee documentation included.
Ibach grands are uncommon in the American market and increasingly rare globally. This is a serious instrument for a serious buyer — a collector's piece with genuine musical and historical provenance.
Located in the Dallas, Texas area. Local viewing welcome by appointment. Serious inquiries only.
