A truly unique copy Steinway Centennial 'D' Style 1 Rococo grand piano.
Very beautifully restored grand piano, finished in Rosewood with Rococo Style and beautiful robust hand carved legs.
This Steinway grand piano has been fully restored this year (2022) and is originally from 1897. The cabinet features high quality Rosewood, finished in open pore satin.
Cabinet features handcrafted carvings, exclusive Rococo-style and hand carved foot feet. Piano has a keyboard of eighty-five keys and a winch with two pedals.
The Steinway Centennial 'D' Style 1 Rococo
Designed by C. F. Theodore Steinway himself, is also called the "Monitor" (a reference to the ironclad warships used during the American Civil War) and first produced in 1871. The wing has a straight concert case with a square back corner in the tail of the wing. The case has hand-carved Rococo-style details and a double linear profile around the bottom of the case. The legs are very exclusively hand carved and feature hidden casters. The lectern is in filigree style.
This unique specimen was the first Steinway grand piano to feature a 20-note bass section, cast iron plate and a continuous soundboard comb.
