Aged soundboard: Kigarashi

The SK-5’s soundboard is made from top-quality spruce and aged using the traditional Kigarashi process, a completely natural drying that relies only on the forces of time and the environment. This long maturation period allows the wood to stabilize and contributes to the instrument’s deep, sustained tonal character.

Main features: new instrument, 200 cm grand piano, high-gloss black finish, 88 keys and 3 pedals. It retains the construction and acoustic characteristics of the Shigeru Kawai series.
