This Steinway & Sons Model B is an extraordinary instrument – both acoustically and historically. Built in Hamburg and in continuous ownership since 1970 by piano professors, this grand piano has never been used as a practice instrument, but cherished and maintained to the highest standards.

It remains in completely original condition, including the hammers. A new set of Hellerbass bass strings will be professionally installed, as the original copper windings have naturally aged. This work will be carried out by a certified piano technician.

The piano is maintained by a renowned concert technician, who has recently performed a full intonation, including precision voicing of the una corda with rare Japanese needles. The result is a wide dynamic range and exceptional tonal colors – ideal for concert-level performance. You can hear the unique voice of this instrument in our provided recordings.

A long-time director of a Steinway dealership recently played the instrument and described it as “the finest used Model B I have ever played.”

The piano retains its original one-piece ivory keytops, in excellent condition. It is fully CITES-compliant, and a corresponding certificate from the Austrian Ministry of the Environment is included for legal international trade.

The piano is located in a private studio in Vienna and is available to play by appointment. Professional audio equipment is available on site – we offer to record your visit at no cost and provide the recordings immediately.
