Descrizione
We present the Yamaha S3X, a piano designed to deliver a warm tone and a mature resonance from the very first performance.
The Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.) system applied to the inner and outer rims reduces the wood's moisture and induces chemical changes similar to those that occur in wood aged under natural conditions. Thanks to this treatment, the instrument displays a rounder, sweeter sonic character from the outset, without waiting years of use. The A.R.E. technique has already been successfully tested on other Yamaha instruments and is now incorporated for the first time into an acoustic piano to achieve deep resonance and excellent expressive precision.
In the rims of the SX Series, wood is selected to seek a defined tonal balance. To enhance resonance, the number of plies has been reduced and the layers are 30% thicker compared with the previous S Series. This design provides greater richness and clarity, with reinforcement particularly in the low and mid ranges, while maintaining a balanced tone.
The hammers incorporate a felt developed specifically for the SX Series after extensive R&D. Its elasticity allows a wide dynamic palette and a clear, musical sound across the entire range, offering the performer expressive freedom and great nuance in delicate passages.
The internal structure includes bracing with a cross-section 20% larger than that of the previous S Series. This increased rigidity reduces unwanted vibrations and provides stability, so the attack energy is preserved and projection is increased even in demanding fortissimos.
The soundboard responds naturally to the performance, contributing to a homogeneous transmission of sound and favoring a lively, controlled resonance.
New instrument. Basic specifications: 186 cm long, 101 cm high, 149 cm wide. Color: high-gloss red. 88-key keyboard and 3 pedals. For more information on availability and technical specifications, consult the product sheet.
