Yamaha U1 TA2 acoustic piano with TransAcoustic (TA2) technology. It retains all the virtues of a traditional upright piano: mechanical action and a resonant soundboard that transmits and amplifies each note with richness and body.

When the piano’s natural sound is too intense for the home environment or for neighbours, the TransAcoustic function allows the sound level to be reduced without sacrificing expressiveness. The digital vibration is projected through the soundboard, so the instrument acts as a resonator in itself.

The instrument includes 19 different voices to adapt the timbre to various repertoires: concert pianos, organs, marimba, harpsichord and electric pianos, among others. It is also possible to reproduce signals from external sources: when transmitted through the soundboard, those voices have a more natural acoustic feel.

No external speakers are required: the soundboard itself functions as a membrane, offering a broader and less directional sound projection than a conventional speaker system. In addition, the interaction between the digital signal and the strings generates natural resonances that enrich the tone.
