Mason & Hamlin S‑G Symmetrigrand (serial no. 58548) from 1950 was fully restored about 15 years ago. The brown closed‑pore mahogany satin case is in excellent condition with only minor signs of use; we rate the cabinet 9.5/10.

During the renovation the action, hammers, strings and tuning pins were rebuilt. The hammers are effectively near‑new and have been carefully voiced to deliver a clear, powerful American‑style tone. The original keytops remain in very good condition and the instrument shows no mechanical or tonal defects.
