Steinway & Sons, model S (S-155), walnut, built in 1958

Description:
This Steinway S-155 is presented in an unrestored original condition with a warm wood-colored walnut finish that shows minor signs of wear. The action has been overhauled and freshly regulated; the complete service has been carried out. The original Steinway & Sons hammer heads are installed.
The instrument has been freshly tuned and shows very good tuning stability. The voicing is set to “medium,” which allows a wide repertoire—from romantic literature to jazz—to be interpreted very well. Touch and tonal characteristics are excellent and typical for Steinway.
Technical note: the soundboard previously had a crack; it is currently not open; there are no acoustic or technical impairments.

You are welcome to try the instrument in person at our shop in Jena; please arrange an appointment.
Payment:
Payment on delivery to the shipping company or by advance bank transfer.
Sale and recommendation:
The instrument is sold directly by the master piano builder and carries his recommendation.
Delivery and additional costs:
The price includes delivery within Germany including carrying to floors (without particular difficulties such as a crane, given sufficient space). For delivery to Austria and the Benelux countries a surcharge of 150.00 EUR applies.
Taxes:
VAT included, but not separately itemizable (margin taxation).
Warranty (3 years):
The warranty relates to the functional operability of the purchased item. Damage resulting from improper handling or insufficient maintenance is excluded. The warranty covers free replacement of materials and labor; any further costs are to be borne by the buyer. Tunings and regular service work are not covered by the warranty.
Duration and scope:
The warranty is valid for 3 years from handover and is territorially limited to Germany and the rest of continental Europe.

Conditions for warranty coverage:
The warranty is valid only if the buyer complies with certain conditions: the instrument is sensitive to climatic fluctuations. The relative humidity in the room where it is placed should be between 40% and 60%. We are happy to advise you on suitable humidification and dehumidification options. The instrument must not be exposed to direct heat radiation (e.g. from radiators) or direct sunlight; furthermore, it should not be placed immediately next to frequently opened exterior doors or windows.
