The Yamaha SE series combines the meticulous precision Yamaha is renowned for with the inspiration and warmth of the rich European musical heritage. The SE series was designed to become the reference upright piano in a particularly demanding market, thanks to the combination of the experience of European artists, technicians and craftsmen.

At the heart of the "SE" sound are the highest-quality European materials: the bass strings, hammers and soundboard, selected and sourced locally to make the SE model a truly remarkable piano. What truly elevates the Yamaha SE series are the artisanal techniques used by the same team that produces the CFX concert grand pianos. No task was too difficult and no detail was overlooked in the making of these excellent instruments: the highest representation of craftsmanship in piano making.

Tuning
The tuning of the pianos in the SE series is carried out by the same craftsmen who build the CFX concert grand pianos.

Action
The action of a piano plays a central role in sound production. For the SE series, the hammer felts are carefully selected to ensure the resulting sound has the typical European timbre.

Strings
The bass strings are characterized by a pure, deep harmonic sound and are manufactured by European craftsmen.

Soundboard
Only high-quality European soundboards are used. Yamaha sources the fine woods. The assembly of the boards is carried out in Yamaha workshops, ensuring the best arrangement of the wood grain across the different bass, middle and treble sections.

Keyboard housing
The keyboard housing has been redesigned with larger dimensions to ensure an entirely European style.

Top lid
The top lid allows control over sound projection and the enjoyment of typically European tonal colors.

The SE 122 model
The SE 122 features more compact dimensions compared to the SE 132 model but is equipped with the same high-level European components such as bass strings, hammers and soundboard material. Remarkably, the SE 122 has the same dimensions as the larger SE 132 in terms of certain key elements, thus offering excellent touch control. The SE 122 is fitted with the same key length as the larger SE 132 model, guaranteeing a high-quality touch.

Keys
The SE 122 has the same key length as the larger SE 132 model and therefore offers an excellent touch.

Mute pedal
When the mute pedal is pressed, a thin layer of felt positions itself between the strings and the hammers, so that the volume of the resulting sound is attenuated.
