Nowy, Yamaha, S5X

We present the Yamaha S5X, a new grand piano designed to deliver a mature tone from the outset. Thanks to the exclusive A.R.E. process applied to the inner and outer rims, the wood exhibits acoustic properties typical of aged instruments, providing warmth and tonal richness from the very first notes.

The rim construction has been optimized: fewer but thicker plies are used to enhance the wood’s natural resonance, resulting in greater clarity and body in the bass and mid registers without sacrificing tonal balance.

The hammers are fitted with a felt developed specifically for the SX Series. Its elasticity expands the dynamic range, allowing everything from subtle pianissimos to powerful passages with a tone that remains defined and musical.

The internal structure features bracing with an increased cross-section, designed to provide stability under high dynamic demands and to reduce unwanted vibrations. The overall system supports consistent sound projection and a precise response to touch.

The soundboard and the overall assembly are designed so that each performance finds its own body and color, offering deep resonance and excellent expressive capability.
