For the first time in the history of piano construction, a mass-produced piano can be played without its cabinet; perfect for recordings, concerts and delicate transports.

In general the front panel absorbs a large part of the sound produced by upright pianos. For this reason, in the “Wien‑Klavier” (as it is also colloquially called in Vienna) a thin opening was introduced that allows the direct transmission of sound from the soundboard, resulting in a more direct and fuller sound, as well as an interesting view of the piano’s internal workings.
