This is a refurbished Yamaha U1D model from the production period late 1950s to mid-1960s. Older U1 examples are known for a slightly softer, warm sound compared with later production years.

Originally the U1D models were fitted with two pedals; in our restorations a third (moderator) pedal is consistently added — visible in the rounded shape of the lid.

We supply these Yamaha pianos as fully restored instruments: both the action and the inside and outside have been thoroughly overhauled. The cabinet has been repainted with polyester high-gloss lacquer, the keytops have been replaced and the soundboard given a new lacquer; internal parts have also been restored to near-new condition. Based on this refurbishment we offer a 10-year warranty.

Strings and hammers have been repaired or replaced where necessary. As standard we replace all felt work and the bearings in the action. All brass accents are polished so they look like new again. The piano is fitted with a practice pedal and a slow-fall system on the fallboard.

Silent system: we carry multiple silent solutions. Sometimes we encounter an original, factory-installed Yamaha silent system, but generally we offer a universal silent system. This makes it possible to choose a piano from our full range and then have the desired silent system installed, without being tied to pre-assembled silent models.
