This is a fully refurbished Yamaha U1D, a model originally built between 1959 and 1965. Older U1 models are known for their relatively soft, warm tone; that character is well represented in this instrument.

Originally the U1D was equipped with two pedals. In all our restorations we add the third (moderator) pedal, recognizable by the rounded shapes on the top lid.

The piano has been thoroughly refurbished both inside and out. The cabinet has been refinished with high-gloss polyester, the key coverings have been replaced and the soundboard has been revarnished. Internal parts have been serviced or renewed so the instrument is technically in an almost new condition.

Strings and hammer heads have been repaired or, where necessary, renewed. All felt work and the action bearings are replaced as standard; brass parts have been polished. The instrument is fitted with a practice pedal and a slow-fall closure on the keyboard lid.

We provide a 10-year warranty on these refurbished pianos.

Silent option: we offer several silent systems and usually install a universal system on a piano of your choice. This allows you to freely choose from our full range and not be limited to factory-silent examples only.
