This is a fully restored Yamaha U1D, a model originally produced between 1959 and 1965. Older U1 examples are known for their warmer and more softly rounded tone compared with later versions.

Originally the U1D was delivered with two pedals; in our overhauls we standardly add a third (moderator) pedal. This is visible in the curves of the top lid and increases the playing options for study and home use.

The instruments have been thoroughly refurbished inside and out. The case has been repainted with polyester high-gloss black lacquer; the keytops have been replaced and the soundboard re-coated. Mechanical parts have been overhauled, all feltwork and bearings renewed, and brass parts polished.

Strings and hammer heads have been repaired or replaced where necessary. All pianos are equipped with a practice pedal and a slow-fall on the fallboard. Thanks to the complete overhaul we offer a 10-year warranty on this instrument.

Silent systems: we supply and install both factory-original Yamaha silent systems (when available) and universal silent systems. The advantage of a universal system is that you are free to choose from our entire piano range and have the silent system installed later.
