Fully restored Yamaha U1D with a warm, characterful tone. Older U1 models from the period 1959–1965 generally have a softer, warmer sound than later versions.

The original Yamaha U1D was delivered with two pedals. In our restorations we add a third (moderator) pedal to each instrument; this is visually recognisable by the curves in the top lid.

What has been renewed?
The instrument has been thoroughly worked on both inside and out. The casework is finished with polyester high-gloss lacquer, the key covering has been replaced and the soundboard has been re-varnished. Interior, action and touch have been restored to an almost-new condition.

Technical work:
Strings and hammerheads have been repaired or replaced where necessary. All felts and the bushings in the action are renewed as standard. Brass parts have been polished. The instrument is fitted with a practice pedal and a slow-fall (soft-close) on the fallboard.

Warranty:
We offer a 10-year warranty on this restored Yamaha.

Silent systems:
