This attractive W.Hoffmann upright piano stands at 114cm in height and is presented in a polished mahogany cabinet with elegant cabriole legs. Unlike many modern W.Hoffmann pianos, which are now produced in the Czech Republic, this example is a traditionally handcrafted German instrument. The quality of construction is evident throughout. It was originally supplied new by Harrods and still retains its original Harrods sticker, a small but notable detail that reflects the calibre of the instrument. The cabinet is particularly attractive, with carved panel detailing and graceful proportions that suit a more traditional interior. The polished mahogany finish remains in very good condition with no fading, and the overall presentation is excellent. A lid prop allows the top to be raised slightly for increased sound projection when desired. The practice pedal is operated by a stylish brass lever positioned neatly in the bass cheek block, and internal components such as the practice rail are crafted from substantial solid wood, demonstrating the level of detail in its construction.
