Descrizione
Instrument: Weber art-case grand piano with bench, Serial #81319.
Finish and design: Elegant Italian Florentine–style inlay work executed in American walnut lacquer. The case features double-turned, gated legs with floral marquetry and a striking medallion above the treble leg. Exotic veneers such as quilted walnut, mahogany, rosewood and black walnut appear across the trim and music rack, giving the cabinet an exceptionally refined appearance.
History and condition: Albert Weber instruments have long been held in high regard, and this example — produced in the early 1930s and likely manufactured in East Rochester, NY — exemplifies that legacy of craftsmanship. The instrument retains its original special hammers made of German felt, carefully conserved to preserve the piano’s characteristic sonority. A comprehensive rebuild was carried out in the 1980s; tuning pins are reported to be tight and in like-new condition.
Remarks: This Weber is a museum-quality, rare art-case grand that combines ornamental furniture work with a preserved vintage tonal character. It will be a distinguished focal point in any elegant interior.
