The Yamaha U1 SH2 in satin black combines the playing characteristics of a conventional piano with a modern Silent system. The U-series construction places special emphasis on improved sound projection and stability: revised scale, reinforced soundboard and newly designed hammer heads ensure a clear, even tonal response.

The control unit of the SH2 Silent system is located on the left under the keyboard. In digital mode the selected sounds are reproduced via headphones; the acoustic sound generation can be muted by pressing the middle pedal and locking it to the side. The available piano voices include the Yamaha CFX concert grand and the Bösendorfer Imperial. Additionally, the control functions provide access to further sounds, a metronome and a recorder.

For integration into external setups the unit offers common interfaces: Bluetooth, USB and MIDI. The fallboard has been designed to close damped and gently, underscoring the high-quality workmanship.
