The Yamaha U1 SH2 in satin‑matte black combines the playing feel of an acoustic piano with modern Silent functions. The U series has been further improved in sound, stability and durability: a revised scale, a reinforced soundboard and frame, and newly developed hammer heads contribute to a clearer, more consistent tone. The SH2 Silent system is operated via a control unit located to the left under the keyboard. In digital mode you hear the selected sounds through headphones; the acoustic sound generation can be muted by pressing the middle pedal and latching it to the side.
