Ex-Blair School of Music Kawai KG-8 concert grand (109") in good presentable condition, offered with a matching bench.

This instrument was part of a recent acquisition of 12 pianos from Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music; it was the largest instrument in that group. The university employed an on-staff technician and these pianos were maintained to a high standard.

We have fitted new hammers, shanks and flanges, and the piano has been restrung. The action, strings, tuning pins and other internal components are in excellent shape (internals rated at least 9/10). The case shows typical institutional wear—dings, small dents and surface scratches—but has been cleaned and buffed; cosmetically the case rates about 7.75/10 and looks very presentable.

Tonally the KG-8 delivers a deep, resonant bass with a crisp, clear midrange and treble—an instrument with strong projection and excellent concert characteristics.
