Santa Cruz Piano

Santa Cruz Piano's pianos are curated by master technician Jeffrey Potter and longtime apprentice Robin Whitehouse.

People know and trust Santa Cruz Piano because of our longstanding history as being technicians first, and salespeople much later.

Jeff began rebuilding pianos in the 1980's and learned from every resource available - all the published literature, other masterful rebuilders, the Piano Technicians Guild conventions, and he even visited the factories of dozens of European piano makers. He is depended upon to maintain and tune pianos for many live concerts, as well as rare gems in private homes. Customers agree that he is able to make their pianos “sing” like never before.

Robin has learned this craft under the tutelage of his mentor, Jeff. As an active member of the Piano Technicians Guild, he seeks ways to improve PTG’s ability to serve piano owners. In the shop, Robin happily helps to maintain and restore the pianos we are proud to sell. He is also an authorized Yamaha service technician for Yamaha digital pianos - for which we are an authorized dealer.


Our primary focus is to service and care for the pianos out in our community, so we must schedule store visitors by appointment. We’re happy to have you! Please call or email so we can find a time to meet you. We are typically available on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and often Sundays.
