Comparative notes on tone and character:
- C. Bechstein vs Steinway: Bechstein offers clearer bass and treble clarity on a concert platform; Steinway tends to present a darker midrange coloration.
- C. Bechstein vs Bösendorfer: Bösendorfer emphasizes deep, rich bass and lower midrange. The Bechstein delivers a cleaner, purer voice and excels in mid to treble beauty.
- C. Bechstein vs Fazioli: Fazioli is bright, energetic and glassy; it has power but less body and warmth compared to this Bechstein.
- C. Bechstein vs Blüthner: Blüthner is very warm and characterful but can lack the dynamic power that makes the Bechstein sing without the same limitations.
