The featured instrument is a restored Steinway & Sons grand piano, modelled as a drawing room grand piano, designated serial number 198289 and crafted in 1920. It measures 180 cm in length and is equipped with 88 keys and three pedals. This piano has undergone comprehensive restoration, encompassing its cabinet, acoustic properties, action mechanics, and keyboard.
The cabinet has been meticulously refinished with high-quality transparent Italian polyester lacquer and re-veneered with distinctive Macassar veneer, adding a unique character to its appearance. The soundboard has been revived using the finest Italian lacquer.
In terms of structural enhancements, new treble and bass bridge caps crafted from select beech wood have been integrated, shaped through a four-stage technique for precise acoustic alignment. The instrument is restrung with premium strings from renowned makers—Heller bass and Röslau wire, each carefully scaled to fit.
A new pin block, comprising five layers of selected hard maple, has been installed to ensure increased tuning stability thanks to its dense grain structure.
This grand piano not only represents an exquisite example of craftsmanship but also a testament to the high standards of restoration at Sap Renovation. It is ideal for advanced pianists seeking a limited edition, German-quality restored grand piano. Interested individuals are invited to experience this exceptional instrument by visiting Sap Renovation.
