The piano needs restoration but has historical value. Inside the instrument, beneath the strings, there is an inscription: Anglii 1862 Londini Honoris Causa. This inscription denotes a prestigious award that the Bosendorfer company received at the London exhibition in 1862, which means that the piano dates from 1862–1870.
