Används, Steinway & Sons, A-188

Steinway & Sons model A-188 (188 cm) – completely overhauled by Klangmanufaktur Hamburg. This instrument has been carefully restored and combines classical character with modern playability. The finish has been treated in open-pore matte black, giving the grand a discreet, elegant appearance.

The overhaul includes a completely renewed action, fresh strings and an acoustic optimization of the soundboard. The cast iron plate has been finely adjusted to improve sound projection; contemporary damping elements and a revised pedal mechanism ensure precise response and an extended dynamic expression.

Notable are the massive brass concert casters, which provide the instrument with both stability and a representational appearance. The keyboard has been reconstructed with CITES‑certified ivory keys, preserving the piano's historical character.

This A-188 is particularly suitable for smaller concert halls, discerning pianists and anyone looking for an expressive, ready-to-play instrument. The instrument can be tried and inspected on site at Piano Sigrist.
