The C5X, a descendent of the Yamaha G5 and C5 models, measures 6'7" long and is one frame size up from the popular C3X. While the two pianos share the same action mechanism, the extra string length and soundboard area of the C5X affords it a much richer and more resonant tone, and consequently is an ideal choice for the larger home or small performance space.

Additionally, the soundboard of the C5X is made from Austrian spruce, which produces a warmer tone than the Alaskan spruce of the smaller C3X, and is chosen for the soundboards of premium European pianos.
