Romanesque Style, Beuloff Grand Piano with a Hand-Painted Cream Case
Circa 1910, Beuloff grand piano for sale with a cream case. Entire cabinet hand-painted with Classical style motifs. It is signed on the cabinet by Jade 85 Wigmore Street. The cabriole legs with a scalloped top, are hand-painted with flowers and foliage and gilt accents. The traditionally shaped two-pedal piano lyre features two S-curves bordered with gilt accents. The music desk features a hand-painted lyre with crossed myrtle branches and wreaths of bay leaves. It is bordered with gilded volutes. The rounded piano cheeks are hand painted with large green and gold urns surrounded by swags of red fabric. The piano fall features a panel of dancing cherubim playing musical instruments. The piano lid is bordered with a claret stripe edged in gilt featuring an intertwined rinceau of acanthus and myrtle. A central plaque features winged putti dancing and playing instruments. Festoons of flowers and fluttering ribbons sit adjacent. Bundles of antique musical instruments hang from tied blue ribbons. Around the back of the cabinet more floral festoons hang from knotted, reed bundles. Among the flowers delicately depicted are roses, morning glory, chrysanthemums, peonies. Piano has a new langer action.
