At 290 cm long and with an extended keyboard of 97 keys (eight octaves), it offers an expanded sonic palette that allows faithful performances of works by Bartók, Debussy, Ravel and Busoni.
Its powerful resonant body and the large surface of the soundboard, made from mountain spruce, provide a dense, almost orchestral timbre. Bösendorfer's principle of treating the instrument as a unified resonance box produces exceptional projection and harmonic richness, appreciated in concert halls around the world.
