Steinway grand piano Model B, 211 cm, three pedals, 85 keys, built in Hamburg and shipped for the first time in July 1892 to Dublin.
The instrument was faithfully restored in 2023 using original Steinway materials. The sound is dense, deep and crystalline in the cantabile. The keyboard is smooth, responsive in glissandos and of the right weight. The soundboard is free from hairline cracks and left in natural wood. The black finish was applied in shellac and gives the piano a decidedly pleasing appearance, typical of the period in which it was built.
The legs are of the "Paderewski" type.
