Steinway & Sons B-211 – 211 cm grand piano

From our master workshop: a carefully overhauled Steinway & Sons B-211 (211 cm) from 1918. The instrument combines the original ambience of its year of construction — with fine rosewood inner veneer and a finely crafted cast-iron plate — with an almost contemporary playing feel. In extensive restoration work the grand received a completely new Original Steinway action as well as a new Kluge keyboard. The acoustic components were professionally renewed, and the surface was refreshed with a high-quality polyester lacquer; the music desk, casters and nameplate were also renewed.

Tonally, the grand is very well balanced across all registers: great tonal depth, a long-sustaining tone and a nuanced tonal spectrum. The touch is precise and controllable at all dynamic levels; the touch-weight balance has been dynamically adjusted (typical Steinway, approx. 48–50 g).
