Steinway & Sons D-274 – original concert grand piano (274 cm)

Steinway & Sons D-274 – concert grand piano

This Steinway & Sons D-274 was manufactured in Hamburg and comes from the inventory of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Hanover. The instrument was used in professional contexts and was, among other things, employed for concert recordings, which gives its provenance particular significance.

The grand is in its original condition; both the acoustic design and the action have retained their original substance. Sonically, the D-274 shows great projection: deep bass, a present midrange and a clear, well-differentiated treble. Dynamics and expressive range meet the expectations of a large Steinway concert grand.

The black polished surface has been discreetly re-polished and presents as well cared for; only very minor signs of use are visible, reflecting its previous professional use.

Workshop work: All relevant assemblies were checked. The action was precisely regulated; the grand was voiced and tuned. After handover a retuning and inspection will be performed.
