Yamaha C1X SH2 Silent — compact grand 161 cm

We present the Yamaha C1X SH2 Silent, a compact grand piano measuring 161 × 101 × 150 cm in a black finish, equipped with 88 keys and three pedals.

It incorporates TransAcoustic technology, which allows playing at different volumes without the hammers striking the strings: sensors located under each key detect depth, velocity and timing of the press and transfer that data to the tone generator, enabling adjustment of projection without the need for external amplification.

In addition, the SILENT Piano SH system offers the option to practice with headphones for private sessions or studio work. The instrument features a binaural sampling of the Yamaha CFX concert grand, recorded to reproduce a natural sonic perspective from the performer’s position.

The C1X SH2 provides 19 additional voices (digital pianos, clavichord, vibraphone, organs, strings, choirs and synthesizers) and 50 preset songs; it also allows playback of personal recordings. All voices are emitted through the soundboard, thus integrating the piano’s acoustic projection.

The combination of the acoustic sound and the tone generator facilitates layering — for example, adding strings over the acoustic piano or combining the CFX sampling with the instrument’s own tone — to obtain richer and more versatile textures.
