Play the piano at any volume
There are times when the sound of an acoustic piano should not be heard by your family or neighbors. For those situations, simply activate the TransAcoustic function and the hammers will no longer strike the strings. Sensors located beneath each key detect the depth of each press, its velocity and the timing, and send this information to the tone generator. You can adjust the volume to suit your needs. The use of headphones or external amplification is not necessary.
SILENT Piano SH technology
Featuring SILENT Piano SH
Yamaha’s renowned SILENT SH technology allows you to carry out practice sessions with headphones. TransAcoustic pianos also include a binaural sample of the Yamaha CFX concert grand, recorded using special techniques to perfectly capture the sound from the pianist’s natural playing position. These two technologies adapt to all situations so you can play without disturbing others.
Play with accompaniment
Featuring SILENT Piano SH
Enjoy playing accompanied by the 50 preset songs included in the TransAcoustic, with songs you have recorded yourself or even with commercial tracks via its soundboard. You can be as creative as you like; with this feature you can, for example, play a duet with yourself or simply listen to your recordings.
Choose among different sounds — A broad sonic palette
The TransAcoustic piano offers 19 additional sounds, allowing you to select the perfect voice to match the musical genre you are performing. It includes digital pianos, clavichords, vibraphones, pipe or jazz organs, strings, choirs and synthesizers. The TransAcoustic is perfect for use in jazz clubs, hotels, restaurants, churches — almost anywhere you can imagine. All voices are projected through the soundboard. Therefore playing a TransAcoustic piano is a unique experience.
Combine acoustic and digital sound
Thanks to its unique construction, TransAcoustic pianos allow you to layer the natural acoustic piano sound with the voices from the tone generator. You can achieve spectacular sounds, for example by selecting orchestral strings as a backing to the acoustic piano. Or mix the sampled sound of the CFX concert grand with the instrument’s own natural sound to obtain an even more powerful new piano tone.
The sound of a Yamaha CFX — The sound of Yamaha’s acclaimed CFX concert grand
The TransAcoustic piano features a detailed binaural sampling system of the Yamaha CFX concert grand, the piano most requested by prominent pianists nationally and internationally. You will be able to experience the sound of a concert grand on a much more compact instrument.
