Grotrian Steinweg College 122 upright piano (serial number 129212), built in Braunschweig (Germany) in 1983. Used instrument fitted with a Renner action, known for precision and reliable dynamic response.
The delivery includes the bench and a contribution of up to €150 towards transport.
The piano offers a full, intense sound with a clearly defined European timbre; it is suitable both for home use and for studios and rehearsal rooms that require good sonic presence.
Construction features:
1) Selected timbers: frame in red beech and soundboard in mountain spruce with thin, even growth rings for controlled resonance.
2) Star‑pattern back: the rear with a star-shaped design (Grotrian patent 1905) helps to distribute the case tensions effectively.
3) Technical gluing: structural parts assembled under a 90°C press using two-component, water-resistant adhesives for greater stability in humid climates.
4) Frame and stability: combination of a metal frame and wooden back capable of withstanding the string tension (over 20 tonnes), for enhanced robustness and durability.
