Nordiska 118 Upright — Solid Spruce Soundboard & Beech Bridge

This new Nordiska 118 upright is built around a 1,786 sq. in. solid spruce soundboard supported by ten pre‑crowned spruce ribs for even resonance.

The instrument uses a 19‑ply Dehonit Red Beech pinblock and a Nordiska action with Nordiska hammers, delivering reliable touch and consistent tonal response. Bass strings reach 46" (#1), providing depth in the lower register.

Structural elements include back posts made from high‑quality spruce and a solid European beech bridge and cap, hand‑planed to ensure precise downbearing. The piano sits on a sand‑cast full‑perimeter plate for stable stringing and long‑term tuning stability.

The keyboard assembly features a laminated spruce and hardwood keybed; keys are crafted from solid spruce and individually weighted to produce a uniform touch across the scale.

Three solid brass pedals are fitted, including a center practice (mute) pedal for quiet practice. The case is finished in a durable high‑gloss polyester.
