Description
I am offering a Schimmel piano, model W 118 "Tradition", from first ownership. The instrument was played very rarely over decades and is playable as well as generally well cared for.

Original purchase: 06.12.1985 from Steinway & Sons Berlin. Both the original invoice and the purchase contract from 1985 are available in copy and will be handed over (the serial number is traceable on the documents).
Condition:
The piano is functional. A major advantage is the very low use over the past roughly 40 years: action, hammers and strings show only minor wear and are not in the condition of heavily used instruments.
Visually, the high-gloss surface shows normal signs of use, mainly very fine sanding and hairline scratches that become visible in raking light. There is a dent with a small paint chip on the right side panel at medium height; additionally there is a chip on the lower edge revealing the lighter underlayer. On the left lower side there is a light paint spot (likely wall paint). On the lid edge there are one or two small paint chips.
These areas face the wall in normal placement and are usually not visible in the room; the small chips on the lid edge are noticeable when viewing the opened instrument. The price is set deliberately moderate to account for these cosmetic imperfections. Anyone seeking a cosmetically flawless, refurbished piano should purchase a refurbished instrument from a dealer.
Tuning and transport:
The piano is sold un-tuned; the last tuning was several years ago. A fresh tuning after transport to the new location is recommended; organizing the tuning is the buyer's responsibility.
Please note: The location is on the 3rd floor in a new building, no elevator. Transport must be via the stairwell. For this reason, engaging a professional piano moving company is strongly recommended. Transport and all related work are organized by the buyer independently.
