Yamaha P116 SH2 Silent piano – 116 cm, powerful sound

This Yamaha P116 SH2 presents itself as a compact, high‑quality Silent upright with a height of 116 cm and 88 keys. Despite its slim design, the instrument produces an impressively full sound and features the modern SILENT Piano™ SH2 technology: in Silent mode the hammers no longer strike the strings, while precise sensors digitally capture every key movement and relay it to the sound generation. This allows you to practise with headphones undisturbed without losing the instrument’s acoustic presence.

The digital sound library includes 20 preset voices, including the Yamaha CFX concert grand profile and the sound of the Bösendorfer Imperial, as well as electric pianos, organs, harpsichord, choirs, strings and synth pads. The control unit for the SILENT system is discreetly positioned to the left under the keyboard and is finished in black, which does not disturb the elegant look of the high‑gloss cabinet. The menu navigation is clear and easily accessible.

For recordings, an internal recorder and the option for USB audio recording are available; recordings can, for example, be saved in WAV format and played back or processed externally. In addition, the Bluetooth audio function enables wireless playback of accompaniment tracks via the instrument and via the supplied headphones. An integrated metronome completes the practical functions for practising and recording.
